I’m trying to run the alphabet down a spread sheet put can’t do with the trusted drag method. When i put the A&B in and try to drag the cells for the rest of the alphabet i just get a repeat of A&B, can anyone help me please?
The alphabet,unlike days of the week, months of the year or numerics are not able to be entered using autofill. You will have to add it to the custom list. If you are pre 2007 version, Tools, Options, Custom Lists, and type the alphabet in the List Entries box, and click on Add button. I know it is a pain but it is only the once and then you can merely put in the A and B and autofill down or across.
If 2007 version, click on Office Button top left of ribbon down and across to Excel Options button. Click on Popular category left pane then under Top options for working with Excel, click Edit Custom Lists. Click NEW LIST, and then type the entries in the List entries box, When the list is complete, click Add.
