Trussed like Andrew,
inexorable, inexcusable,
he blurts out rum-soaked
half-truths in songbird tones,
garland-draped rivulets
of pneumatic expression,
in awe, we bask in the shade
of his cranium.
We feign and fawn,
thirsting for droplets
of dew from his goblet,
an adoring mob,
we wait with
bait on our breath…
